Speakers

Charlotte Blount advises both companies, public bodies and individuals on contentious and non-contentious areas of employment law, including disciplinaries and grievances, large scale redundancies and restructures, discrimination and harassment, TUPE, and contractual employment documentation. Charlotte has represented clients in both full Tribunal hearings and pre-hearing reviews. Charlotte also has experience of working for a Global company, as she has recently returned from a secondment with BP, where she worked as part of the in-house Employment Legal team advising on a range of employment issues.

Adele Cox is a solicitor in Shoosmiths’ employment team in Birmingham. She advises companies and individuals on both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues including drafting contracts of employment, service agreements and other employee-related documentation and conducting tribunal claims. Adele’s main experience is in providing advice regarding disciplinary and grievance issues, dismissals, redundancy and discrimination issues.

Nigel Mackay is an Associate Solicitor in the employment department based in Hammonds’ London office. He advises on all aspects of employment law and his recent experience includes advising employers on the implementation of redundancies across a number of jurisdictions and management of the consultation process involved, including collective consultation. He has also advised the Respondent in tribunal claims involving race discrimination, sex discrimination, equal pay, unfair dismissal, TUPE related claims and other issues. Nigel also has experience of drafting policies and contractual documents including contracts of employment, casual worker agreements and consultancy agreements. Nigel regularly produces and presents client training sessions. Nigel is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association.

Natalie Smith is an Associate Solicitor in the employment department based at Hammonds’ office in London. She advises on all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law and her recent experience includes representing a Respondent in employment tribunal proceedings for sexual orientation discrimination; advising on TUPE 2006 in relation to the change of service provisions for clients in the media and advertising industry; and she has also developed particular expertise in advising on multi-jurisdictional restructure and redundancy programmes and managing collective and individual consultation requirements. Natalie regularly presents training sessions through her firm’s employment law training programme and she has also developed bespoke training for clients on disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy consultation and performance management. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association.

Carl Vincent is a Partner and Head of Employment Law at Kent law firm Girlings. He advises a diverse client base of listed and private companies including insurers, law and accountancy practices, financial services businesses, manufacturers, retailers, construction and property companies, IT businesses and recruitment consultants as well as directors and senior employees on a broad range of employment-related areas. Carl is an experienced employment tribunal advocate and has considerable general litigation experience in both the High Court and the County Court. A contributor to the Practical Law Company’s subscription service on employment law, Carl is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association and the Industrial Law Society.
