Sheila Pantry OBE

Sheila Pantry OBE was awarded the OBE by HM The Queen for services to the health and safety information industry in the 1993 UK New Year's Honours List. Sheila also received an award in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the cause of health and safety from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents in 2001.

Sheila has worked in information provision for a number of years in numerous industries - iron and steel, heavy engineering and coal, as well as research establishments. Working for the Health and Safety Executive, she established and developed, over a period of 17 years, the world renowned "UK Health and Safety Executive Information Service". Using her vast knowledge and experience within the Health, Safety, Environment and Fire information industry, she has carried out worldwide consulting, training and setting up of information services in many countries. Sheila works closely with a number of organisations and government departments such as the International Labour Office Health and Safety Centre (Geneva). She has been a long time member of National Occupational Safety and Health Committee of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, member of the UK Fire Information Group and a committee member of the Fire and Rescue Service Statistical User Group. She also edits, writes and publishes electronically FireInf and also OSH UPDATE through her own company Sheila Pantry Associates Ltd.

Freeman Nattasha Freeman, President of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Past Chairman of the Midland Branch, England (having served three years as Vice-Chair and last year as Chair). Nattasha is a member of Council and has been in Health Safety and Environmental Management for approximately thirteen years now; including the Railway, Construction and Commercial, sectors. Her roles have included Health and Safety Manager for the EPS (European Passenger Service – better known as Channel Tunnel); Beyond London Project for Railtrack Major Projects; planning supervision on many retail and entertainment projects, (including Five Ways I & II and Regency Wharf on Birmingham’s Broad Street and Grants of Croydon) and Safety Management at Chase Norton Construction and pcm (the latter within the Pettifer Company portfolio). Nattasha currently works as Director for Health and Safety at Phoenix Beard Property Consultants in the Birmingham City Centre. 
   
Dr Tim Marsh

Dr Tim Marsh is the co-founder and Managing Director of Ryder-Marsh (Safety) Ltd and is Europe’s leading expert in behavioural safety. When at UMIST, he was one of the team leaders of the original UK research into behavioural safety in the early 1990s. As a consultant, he has since worked with more than 100 major organisations around the world, has twice been invited to present to the European Conference Board on the topic and was expert witness at the "Safety Culture" and "Management of Change" open workshops at the Cullen Inquiry (Ladbroke Grove). He has chaired many conferences on Behavioural Safety in the UK, as well as major conferences in Dubai, South Africa, Malaysia and India, has published articles in all the major trade journals and is consulted by several safety video producers.

   
Dr Will Murray

Dr Will Murray is Research Director for Interactive Driving Systems and a Visiting Research fellow at the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland, Australia.

   
Neal Stone

Neal Stone became British Safety Council's senior Health and Safety Policy Advisor in May 2008. He previously worked for the Health and Safety executive (HSE) for sixteen years durina and this time his roles included advising the HSC Chair and Commission on policy and strategy, co-ordinating HSE’s input into the recent Commons Select Committee inquiry into the work of HSE and leading HSE’s business involvement, director responsibility and worker involvement programmes. Prior to working for HSE. Neal spent eight years with ACAS as an industrial relations officer and seven years with the Jobcentre service as an employment adviser.  Neal has a law degree from the London School of Economics (LSE), an MSc from Birkbeck and MPhil from the University of Kent in British Politics and Public Administration.

   
Jeremy Stranks

Jeremy Stranks has 40 years of experience in occupational safety and health enforcement, management, consultancy and training. He is a founding member of NEBOSH and lectures on numerous training courses on various aspects of health and safety. His company, Safety and Hygiene Consultants, offers advice to organizations on health and safety management issues, including the drawing up of health and safety policies, risk assessment and audit procedures.
